TOEFL Requirements at GMU

You do not have to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) to enroll at the English Language Institute. You may, however, submit a TOEFL score along with your ELI application, and if you have scored high enough, you may be permitted to take an academic course in addition to your English language classes.

George Mason University requires a minimum combined score of 88 on the internet-based (iBT) TOEFL for admission to a degree-granting program as an international undergraduate student. Although the TOEFL score requirement for admission to graduate programs of study varies by department, generally, a minimum score of 88 is required.

You can register to take the TOEFL on the ETS website.
